Biography
Alex was born in Astoria, Queens and has lived all his life in New York. He took up running when he was a freshman at St. Francis
Prep High School. He ditched the sport the following year, but took it up again at the age of 18, when his Stepmom started
outpacing him at the oval track at Hewlett High. He did his first marathon (New York) that year (1984), and did 2 more in '85 and
'86. Then Alex gave it up to tend to his family and professional career.
Eighteen years later, and starting life over again, Alex decided to give running another chance. And this time it was an
opportunity that he will not soon let go. Since 2004, Alex has run in over 150 races, including 8 Marathons and over 25
Half-Marathons. And with over 10,000 miles logged so far, he is a running machine!
